I lived in Tarbrax back in 1961-1963, My dad was an American stationed at Kirk Newton. He was and still is married to a Scot, Christiana McPherson Martin. My dad\\\'s name is Curtis Martin. I know he used to show the youngsters in Tarbrax how to fish behind the old shale bing. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated. We lived at 89 Crosswood Terrace.

I have 2 ancestors - James Lavin and Thomas Hughes who died in WW1. They both lived with their families in Tarbrax and wre shale miners with the Tarbrax Oil Company. My mother (Wilhelmina Hughes) was born in 1922 and grew up in Tarbrax and later Forth after the shale mines closed - she has many memories of Tarbrax.
I would be grateful if you could tell me whether there is a WW1 memorial in Tarbrax.
Thanks for your help.

Why have no minutes from the Common sub council been issues since October 2007?- I know that meetings have been held and see from the TCC minutes that some work is being dine - surely this should be minuted as there are no specifics in the TCC minutes - Chris Walker

Well, although the idea a broadband issues page is good, it has been \\\\\\\"under development\\\\\\\" for longer than I can remember. This is a pretty important matter for someone who would quite like to download the odd song without having to wait a few hours- page up soon please!!!!! :-) Alex Nelson

I\\\\\\\'am trying to trace my family tree. My mother was born in Tarbrax and lived there before moving to the Forth. My mothers name was Marion Mc Culloch, she had two sisters, Agnes and Lizzie ( lived on Hailstone Green in Forth) and 3 brothers, Alexanda, James Mc Culloch and 1 other. My Gran moved to Carmuir in the Forth. And I believe my grandad died whilst they lived in Tarbrax. Does anyone know of the McCulloch family ? Many thanks Leslie Bishop thebishopfamily@tiscali.co.uk robert mcmeechan

Sir, My father who is also robert mcmeechan was born in 1912 in woolfords before moving to Tarbrax where I believe his father was a miner. Eventually he married lived in Dumbarton and in 1948 moved to Guernsey In the channel Islands. In August I will be taking him on holiday to Scotland and intend to visit Tarbrax probably on 14th. Is there anyone who may have been around all those years ago or families of anyone who was.
regards. Diane Stevenson
